My Top 10 TV Shows

My Top 10 TV Shows

As you all know, I LOVE reading! But just like I enjoy reading books, I also enjoy watching television.

I actually did not grow up with a television or internet in my home, and even to this day my mom doesn’t have one in the house. Still, I enjoyed watching television as much as any child. As a kid, I enjoyed shows like: Codename: Kids Next Door, The Proud Family, SpongeBob, That’s So Raven and Kim Possible. But I wasn’t able to watch them often unless I went to a friend or family member’s house. I didn’t really start watching TV until middle school when I got a phone where I downloaded the Netflix app. That’s when I began watching some of the shows that I still love to this day.

So, grab a snack and check out some of the shows on my watchlist. Once you watch them, let me know your thoughts in the comments. I can’t wait for you all to enjoy them!

Grey’s Anatomy

The medical drama series focuses on a group of young doctors at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital, who began their careers at the facility as interns. One of the young doctors and the show's namesake, Meredith Grey, is the daughter of a famous surgeon. Grey struggles to maintain relationships with her colleagues, particularly the hospital's one-time chief of surgery, Richard Webber, due to a pre-existing relationship between them - Webber and Meredith's mother had a personal relationship when Meredith was young.

Bob’s Burgers
Bob Belcher is a third-generation restaurateur who runs Bob's Burgers with his loving wife and their three children. Bob believes his burgers speak for themselves and isn't afraid to offer a variety of off-beat creations. Bob's wife, Linda, supports his dream but is becoming sick of the slow times, as the restaurant is constantly in danger of going out of business. The main competition to Bob's Burgers is a busy pasta joint located across the street that is run by Bob's nemesis, Jimmy Pesto. Despite the challenges, which includes consistent harassment from Linda's ex - a health inspector - Bob tries to keep the grill sizzling.

Good Girls
The series follows the lives of three suburban mothers who are having a hard time making ends meet. When sisters Beth and Annie and their best friend Ruby become fed up with playing by the rules and not getting the respect they deserve, they band together to take control of their lives -- by holding up a local grocery store. Beth's the perfect wife and mother, but her used-car-dealing, cheating husband has sent her family into financial ruin; Ruby is happily married to a policeman but can't afford the medical bills and experimental drugs to help her daughter; and Annie, a single mom, is caught in a nasty custody battle with her ex. In desperate need of money, the women plan the heist expecting to ease their financial burdens. But new to the game of crime, they get pulled in deeper than they ever imagined – and the only way out of this will be together.

My Hero Academia
In a world populated with superhumans, the superhero-loving Izuku Midoriya is without power. However, after the Quirkless dreamer Izuku inherits the powers of the world's best superhero, All Might, his hopes of becoming the top hero are now possible. Once enrolled in the high school for heroes, U.A., Izuku soon discovers being a hero is much more complicated than it appears.

Broad City

The critically acclaimed Web series `Broad City' moves to Comedy Central as a half-hour scripted series. It's created by and stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer as 20-something best friends who are trying to navigate life in New York, despite that their adventures always seem to lead down unexpected and bizarre paths. They have very little money, but they are survivors who aren't afraid to throw themselves into sticky situations, no matter how messy the end results may be.

Fairy Tail
Lucy, a 17 year old girl, sets out on journey to become a full-fledged wizard by joining the strongest and most notorious guild Fairy Tail. It is there that she meets Natsu, Happy, Gray and Erza, who treat her more like family than friends. This epic series takes viewers through all the dangers that accompany the members of Fairy Tail on every adventure they face and eventually overcome through mutual love and friendship

Manifest

When Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers were relieved. But in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years – and after mourning their loss, their friends, families and colleagues had given up hope and moved on. Now, faced with the impossible, they're all given a second chance. But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds, and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible.

Star vs. the Forces of Evil

When magical princess Star Butterfly receives a royal magic wand for her 14th birthday, she proves to her parents that she is not ready for the responsibility that comes with it. As a result, they send her to a place that doesn't have magic -- Earth -- in hopes that she will gain maturity. Upon her arrival, Star is given a family to help guide her, so she moves in with the Diaz family, which includes teenage son Marco. Star takes Marco with her as she battles villains -- both in their high school and throughout the universe -- as she attempts to protect her powerful wand.

The Office

This US adaptation, set at a paper company in Scranton, Pa., has a similar documentary style to that of the Ricky Gervais-led British original. It features the staff of Dunder-Mifflin, a staff that includes characters based on characters from the British show (and, quite possibly, people you work with in your office). There's Jim, the likable employee who's a bit of an everyman. Jim has a thing for receptionist-turned-sales rep Pam (because office romances are always a good idea). There's also Dwight, the successful co-worker who lacks social skills and common sense. And there's Ryan, who has held many jobs at the company.

Gravity Falls

Twins Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle, Grunkle Stan, in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls. Grunkle Stan has the kids help him run The Mystery Shack, the tourist trap that he owns. The twins try to adapt to the weird surroundings but sense there is something strange about Gravity Falls and begin to unlock its secrets. When Dipper uncovers a cryptic journal that offers insight into the town's mysteries, he and Mabel use it and their enthusiastic desire to vanquish evil to battle the imminent mysteries that surround them.
